Honoring service with free technology for veterans and their families
Veterans who served our nation can receive free government tablets through the Lifeline Assistance Program. If you receive VA pension, Veterans Pension, Survivors Benefits, or other qualifying assistance, you may be eligible for a free tablet and discounted phone service. Additionally, several veteran-specific programs offer technology assistance to help former service members stay connected with family, access VA services, and find employment opportunities.
Veterans can qualify for Lifeline through several pathways:
Veterans receiving VA pension benefits automatically qualify for Lifeline. This includes veterans with limited income who are permanently disabled.
Surviving spouses and children of veterans receiving Survivors Benefits are eligible for free tablets through Lifeline.
Veterans enrolled in VA healthcare programs may qualify based on income or participation in other assistance programs.
Veterans with household income at or below 135% of Federal Poverty Guidelines qualify for Lifeline benefits.
The VA offers a special Telehealth Tablet Program for veterans receiving healthcare services. These tablets are specifically designed for:
